VB Expressions started up in 1996 as a software company. (VB actually stands for Visual Basic, a Microsoft programming language.) At that time we concentrated on utilities to empower users in their efforts to control the Windows environment, and used the Internet to distribute these products. We got noticed in several national publications, and did some custom versions of the utilities for companies. However, the time and effort to produce "shareware" was not rewarded by a sufficient return. As in our current business philosophy, we emphasized customers' rights over our rights, but were not treated fairly by those downloading our software.

Since that time, we have done several significant custom programming projects for our customers, growing our skills along the way.  The most common need is a friendly user interface for database development, so that business processes can be made more efficient. (Still, utilities to empower end users are important to our philosophy, and we have provided same.) We provide both traditional desktop applications and applications hosted on Web servers, for both in-house and external customer use.
